Orchid Montage

At the beginning of last year, one of my goals was to explore multi-image montages. Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun experimenting with various techniques, and I’ve created several images that I like. Some of my favorites are botanicals with added textures such as clouds, frost, and rust. I think that the textures add a sense of depth to the image as well as a tactile feeling. I also find that the most successful of these images are very evocative. This one takes me to a calm, quiet place. It’s an orchid from the current exhibit at the Denver Botanic Gardens combined with a photo of frost on one of our windows.
