Kachemak Bay

_DSC3522_HDR

While we were in Homer, Alaska, we stayed in a motel at the end of the Homer Spit — a 4.5 mile-long bit of land that sticks out into Kachemak Bay. This was taken just below our balcony. The mountains in the background are on the other side of Kachemak Bay, about a 30-minute trip via water taxi.  We took the trip over one day and hiked up to Glacier Lake (below). We capped-off the day with dinner at the Saltry in Halibut Cove before catching the water taxi back to Homer.
