Yesterday, we paid a late afternoon visit to Golden Ponds in Longmont, CO. While the ponds were mostly frozen over, there was one small area of open water that was crowded with birds. We were pleasantly surprised to see a Wood Duck among the usual assortment of Mallards and Canada Geese. I usually think of Wood Ducks as shy, and consider myself lucky to even get a glimpse of one. This little guy was more than happy to parade back and forth while I photographed him, however. This image was processed entirely in Lightroom.
