Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-20

This Privacy Policy explains what information LWPhoto Atlas (https://lloydwphoto.com) collects, how it is used and the choices you have. We don't require accounts, and we don't ask for personal information to use the site.

Information processed in your browser

All calculators and photo tools (EXIF viewer, resizer, kaleidoscope, stackers and others) run locally in your browser. Photos you open in these tools are never uploaded to our servers. Preferences such as dark mode, packing checklists and shot lists are stored only in your browser's local storage, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Log files

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page, date and time). These are used for security and to keep the site running.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message managed through Google's certified consent management platform before personalized ads are served.

Analytics

We use Statcounter to understand which pages are useful (page views, referrers, approximate location by country/region, device type). Statcounter may set a cookie to recognize returning visitors. See the Statcounter privacy policy.

Third-party data requests

Some live widgets fetch public data directly from your browser: the National Weather Service (forecasts), NOAA Tides & Currents, NOAA SWPC (Kp index), FAA and NPS map services (drone checker) and, when you open a map, OpenStreetMap tiles and the Leaflet library from unpkg. These services receive your IP address as part of the request. If you use a 'use my location' button, your browser asks for permission and the coordinates stay in your browser.

Affiliate links

Some gear links point to retailers and may include affiliate parameters; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our affiliate disclosure.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have rights to access, delete or object to the processing of personal data. Because we don't collect personal data directly, most requests concern cookies — which you can control in your browser and through the opt-out links above. For anything else, contact us.
