Stitched panoramas give huge resolution and wide views without distortion. Enter your lens, sensor, orientation, overlap and the total angle you want to cover to get the number of frames and the approximate final image size.
Shooting in portrait orientation needs more frames but gives a taller panorama.
How it works
Frame angle = 2·atan(d / 2f) for the sensor side across the pano. Frames = ceil((total − angle) ÷ (angle × (1 − overlap))) + 1.
FAQ
How much overlap?
25–40% is safe for stitching software; more for wide lenses.
